The Edge of Darkness in an Indian adaptation of the British psychological crime drama Luther

Ajay Devgn is gearing up for his first web series Rudra - The Edge of Darkness. The Disney+ Hotstar show that also stars Raashii Khanna is scheduled to hit the floor on July 21.
The series has been adapted from the British psychological crime drama Luther. According to a report on PeepingMoon, while Ajay will portray the role of a detective investigating serious crimes and also battling his own demons, Rashii will play the character of a ruthless, psychopath murderer (characters originally played by Idris Alba and Ruth Wilson respectively in the British drama).
Helmed by Rajesh Mapuskar, the Indian adaptation of the British show will be shot at various locations across Mumbai during a the span of 2 months.
Planned to be made in multiple seasons, Rudra —The Edge of Darkness is apparently going to be Disney+Hotstar's biggest Indian show ever.
The main plot of the series follows the cases of a troubled yet brilliant cop who's working non-stop on solving multiple murder cases, while also trying to focus on reviving his relationship with his wife.
Before Rudra - The Edge of Darkness, the original series has already been adapted once in the South Korean version, Less Than Evil, which won many awards.
Meanwhile, Ajay is also busy filming Mayday as a director and producer. He’ll also be seen in cameo appearances in Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi and Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. On the other hand, Raashii too is occupied with a lot of upcoming projects including Vijay Sethupathi’s Tughlaq Durbar and Naga Chaitanya starrer Thank You.
