My Dear Bootham, the Prabhudheva-starrer, will be released in theatres worldwide on July 15. The film will see the actor teaming up with Ramya Nambessan, once again after Karthik Subbaraj’s Mercury.

Directed by N Raghavan of Manja Pai-fame, My Dear Bootham, features Prabhudheva as a genie.

Speaking about the film, Raghavan said, “This one is a kids' fantasy film, and will be along the lines of Rajinikanth's Raja Chinna Roja and My Dear Kuttichathan. What happens when a bunch of kids meet a genie forms the rest of the story. This apart, My Dear Bootham has an underlying message similar to my previous films like Kadamban and Manjapai.”

The director added that Prabhudheva’s character in this film will be much-talked-about. “We know he has a great sense of humour but here, he has done a brilliant job with slapstick. The film will be a comedy, fit for the entire family, laced with emotional moments.”

My Dear Bootham features a bunch of child actors like Ashwanth, Alia and Param Guganesh.

The rest of the cast includes Imman Annachi, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, and Bigg Boss Tamil-fame Samyuktha Shan.

Produced by Abhishek Films and Ramesh Pillai, My Dear Bootham has music by D Imman, with lyrics by Yugabharathi.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the makers are planning to get the film dubbed in Hindi and Telugu.

Prabhudheva does not speak Hindi, and yet, it hasn’t stopped him from becoming successful in Bollywood. In an interview with the New Indian Express, he said, "I still say the same. Enaku Hindi theriyadhu. But films are never about the language; only the feel matters. Whenever I do something, I make sure it’s full of energy. Be it dance, or films. Fortunately, Bollywood has accepted me wholeheartedly!"

Udhayanidhi Stalin, who caught this Prabhudheva-starrer, heaped praises on the director, saying the film would become a blockbuster.

Notably, the satellite and OTT rights of My Dear Bootham are with Zee Tamil and Zee5 respectively.
