After the record-breaking feat of Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, Mollywood is gearing up for the release of another big-budget, period film. Director Vinayan’s Pathonpathaam Noottandu, which has Siju Wilson in the lead, had concluded its lengthy shoot recently and the filmmaker announced its release date too.

The team had concluded shooting the movie in the last week of November and Vinayan had taken to his social media page to reveal that the makers are planning to release the movie in theatres on April 14, 2022. This would make it a Vishu release next year.

While Siju Wilson will be seen essaying the social reformer and warrior Velayudha Panicker, Sudev Nair will plays the main antagonist Padaveedan Nambi, the deputy chief of Travancore Army. Anoop Menon will be seen as the king of Travancore. Kayadu Lohar will play the female protagonist Nangeli in the movie, which also has Sudheer Karamana, Chemban Vinod Jose, Indran, Suresh Krishna and Poonam Bajwa as the queen of Travancore.

The movie, which went on floors earlier this year, has Vivek Harshan as its editor and Shaji Kumar as the cinematographer. The film was extensively shot in different parts of Kerala amid the pandemic. Pathonpathaam Noottandu is also the biggest film in Siju Wilson’s career and the actor has put a lot of work to essay the part as well as to get in shape.
