The second single from Dr Rajkumar's grandson Yuva Rajkumar’s second film Ekka was meant to be one of the major reveals of June 5, but then the team decided to push the release ahead following the tragedy that occurred at the Chinnaswamy stadium in which 11 lives were lost. The show must go on, though, and so, the makers of Ekka have decided to bring the song, Bangle Bangari, to audiences shortly.
Earlier today, the team of Ekka released a short ‘making of’ video featuring the recording process of Bangle Bangari with singer Anthony Daasan, whose claim to fame in Kannada is the title song from Tagaru. Anthony reunites with music man Charanraj for this number, which will have Yuva and Sanjana Anand in it. The announcement is that the full video will be out.
According to the latest, Bangle Bangari will drop on the official YouTube page of Anand Audio at 5.18 pm on June 7, 2025. A romantic number, Bangle Bangari is a song about what his character calls his beloved, a pet name of sorts. Ekka, meanwhile, is set for a July 18 theatrical release. The film is said to be far more raw and gritty than Yuva’s self-titled debut, and has him as a young man who gets caught in the dark and murky world of Bengaluru’s underworld.
Directed by Rohit Padaki, of Rathnan Prapancha fame, Ekka also stars Sampada Hulivana, Shruthi Krishna, Atul Kulkarni, Rahul Dev Shetty, Sadhu Kokila among others. It is one of two films that Yuva has lined up with the producers, PRK Productions, KRG Studios and Jayanna Films. While netizens have been hopeful of seeing a film like Jackie in Ekka, the interesting bit is that Yuva’s next is with the maker of the Puneeth Rajkumar film, Sukka Suri.
Unlike his brother Vinay Rajkumar, Yuva has chosen a more commercial film route for his career. In fact, when the reviews of Yuva came out, the actor’s fighting and dance skills were lauded, but critics were unanimous that he was found lacking in the emotional sequences of the film. Will Ekka or Sukka Suri’s films give him the platform to develop those skills as well? Let’s wait and watch.
