The internet is an unforgettable place and at the same time, it is also an unforgiving place. There are many theories to this. The bottom line being one just cannot say or write anything and then, escape the world wide web! Netizens have always dug out something or the other to match/ counter the claims if they find it questionable. There have been many case studies of the same. And the recent one is that of the mysterious social media personality Orry aka Orhan Awatramani.
The last episode of the Karan Johar hosted Koffee With Karan 8 saw Orry as the opening celebrity guest, besides having Kusha Kapila, Sumukhi Suresh, Danish Sait and Tanmay Bhat as the jury members for the ‘Koffee awards’.
While in conversation with Orry, Karan Johar was visibly zapped when the former said that all his minions have to dress up like him, hustle like him, think like him and even talk like him. He added that his office is full of Orrys ranging from Orry number one till six. Orry even added that there was an Orry number three, who they killed her off, because she got more relevance than him.
No sooner did the episode end, the social media was full of compliments galore for Orry for the way he spoke about his minions. But, of late, a Reddit user ‘discovered’ the original version of the ‘Orry’s minions’ theory, which was Scream Queens.
The user also posted a comparative video of the two (Orry and Scream Queens) with a caption note that stated, “Orry has no personality of his own. I think he recently watched Scream Queens and decided to copy everything about it. Also, calling your staff as minions and orry 2,3 is dehumanising. He should be called out for this nonsense.”
For the unversed, Scream Queens happens to be an American television series, which was about satirical black comedy. It was aired on Fox for almost a year ranging from 2015 till 2016! Whether Orry was ‘inspired’ by Scream Queens or he simply copied it blatantly is definitely up for debate. What do you think about it? Do share your views on the same!
