Chiyaan Vikram's Cobra, an action thriller, written and directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, is all set to hit screens on August 31. Cobra is Vikram's first theatrical release after three years

Vikram has not had a full-fledged theatrical release in the last four years. His last was Kadaram Kondan in 2019. He later did a cameo in his son's debut film, Adithya Varma. His next film Mahaan released directly on OTT due to the pandemic. So, Cobra is his big theatrical release after a hiatus and fans of the actor are eagerly awaiting it. Vikram, who manages to excel in any role give to him, plays a brilliant mathematician in the film.

Debut of Srinidhi Shetty, Irfan Pathan and Mamu Koya

The film marks the acting debut of cricketer-turned-actor Irfan Pathan, who is said to be playing an Interpol officer in the film. The film marks the Tamil debut of veteran Malayalam actor, the legendary Mamu Koya and Srinidhi Shetty, who turned many heads with K.G.F franchise.

AR Rahman is back with Chiyaan

Cobra has music by AR Rahman and this is the fourth time the ace composer is scoring music for a Vikram film. Rahman had earlier composed tunes for Pudhiya Mannargal, Raavanan and I. The album has an interesting line-up of songs, including Adheera, Uyir Uruguthey and Thumbi Thullal.

Ajay Gnanamuthu and Vikram team up for the first time

The film marks the first collaboration between Ajay Gnanamuthu and Vikram. Ajay Gnanamuthu had earlier directed Imaikka Nodigal and Demonte Colony, both of which received positive reviews from the critics and audience. Cobra is said to be an action-packed film and the teaser has already piqued the curiosity among the audience.
