Karthi is back in a rural avatar

When it comes to rural entertainers, Karthi has always aced the game. Be it in his debut venture Paruthiveeran, Komban or even Kadaikutty Singam, Karthi has always excelled at playing rustic rural avatars. The actor had recently stated that there was a dearth of rural subjects that usually brings the entire families together to the theatres. With Karthi playing a 'pucca local' character in the film, the film has piqued the curiosity among fans.

Collaboration between Muthaiah and Karthi

Muthaiah is known for his commercial potboilers set in a rural backdrop. Take for instance, his films like Kutti Puli, Marudhu or Kodiveeran. He has always managed to entertain the audience. The last time director Muthaiah and Karthi had teamed up forKomban, they created a hit machine. Karthi played Kombaiah Pandian, a good-natured but short-tempered man who has frequent run-ins with his father-in-law (Rajkiran). Lakshmi Menon shone as the leading lady in the film.

Aditi Shankar marks her debut

The film marks the debut of doctor-turned-actress Aditi Shankar, daughter of veteran director Shankar. Karthi had stated that Aditi was a livewire on the sets and that despite having no exposure to village life, she adapted to her character fast. Aditi had stated that she felt like home on the sets and that she never felt out of place. The fact that she speaks Tamil is an added advantage to her. She is indeed the lady of the moment.

The return of Yuvan Shankar Raja

As far as Yuvan Shankar Raja is concerned, he has delivered some of the biggest hits for Karthi, right from Paruthiveeran. The audio launch of the film was held in Madurai. The buzz is that maestro Ilaiyaraaja has crooned the title track of the film. Yuvan himself has sung the three tracks in the film- Kanja Poovu Kannala, Madura Veeran and Vaanam Kidukidunga.
