Here's why Rangarattinam from Pa Ranjith's Natchathiram Nagargiradhu is a song to watch out for

The first single from director Pa Ranjith's Natchathiram Nagargiradhu was released earlier this evening. The single titled Rangarattinam is a peppy dance number sung by MS Krsna, Gana Muthu, Sangita Santhosham, Kavitha Gopi and Karthik Manickavasakam. The song has the entire star cast dancing to the lines, 'Aagaasam Vaagaakkum Anna kiliyae! Ekantha Evaalo Vanna Kiliyae!' penned by Therukural Arivu. 

The song also represents inclusion as one can see people from different sections of the society dancing together. What's interesting is that song has multiple elements fused together- Hiphop, Gaana to name a few. The interesting song has been composed by Thenma. The background, too, is washed in different colours, thus giving a happy, positive look.

Natchathiram Nagargiradhu has an ensemble cast that includes Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram, Kalaiyarasan, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Hari Krishnan, Vinoth, Subathra Robert, Regin Rose, Damu, Gnanaprasad, Vinsu Rachel Sam, Arjun Prabhakaran, Uthaiya Surya, Stephen Raj, Sherin Celin Mathew and Manisa Tait to name a few. Taking to his social media page, the film's director Ranjith wrote, "#Rangarattinam the first Video single from #NatchathiramNagargiradhu is out now ▶️ https://youtu.be/vxGGn_BpH94 @tenmamakesmusic @TherukuralArivu @officialneelam @vigsun @Manojjahson @YaazhiFilms_ @thinkmusicindia (sic)."

The film is said to be a serious romantic drama and has the tagline, "Love is Political". The film's title was revealed by directed Rathna Kumar and he had captioned it, "#NatchathiramNagargirathu For many years i was waiting for this. A Love story from him. Infact i asked him in the last meeting. Thank you @beemji na 😍❤️❤️❤️(sic)."Ranjith is venturing into the romance genre after a long gap. He had earlier directed by Attakathi, which had Dinesh in the lead.

The team recently announced that the film will hit screens on August 31. Natchathiram Nagargiradhu is produced by Neelam Productions and Yaazhi Films. In the meantime, Ranjith's Dhammam (Compassion), which released as part of the latest anthology series from SonyLIV has been receiving a lot of critical acclaim for it power-packed take on caste in a span of a few minutes.
