Hi Nanna, Conjuring Kannappan among Kannada-dubbed movies and series on OTT in January week 1

December 2023 gave Kannada audiences several original flicks on OTT, including Tagaru Palya, Toby, Sugar Factory and Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye, apart from dubbed content like Jigarthanda DoubleX, Chithha, Japan, and many others. In fact, in the last week, there were two titles, Nayanthara’s Annapoorani and Parking, which released with Kannada audio. In the first week of the new year, the expectation was that Rakshit Shetty’s Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B would be on OTT, but there’s no word on it yet. Not to fret! There are a few promising titles from other languages that will be available with Kannada audio this week.

Hi Nanna

The Telugu original film with Nani and Mrunal Thakur in the lead had the former playing a celebrity photographer and single father, Viraj, to a six year old daughter. As attentive and hands on he can be, Viraj, though, cannot fill the void left by his wife, with the little one curious to know more. Why Viraj is left to take care of his daughter by himself forms the crux of the narrative.

Perilloor Premier League

Led by Nikhila Vimal and Sunny Wayne, this is the latest original Malayalam series. Nikhila is Malavika Purushothaman, the newest candidate in the race to be panchayat president of Perilloor. The series also stars Vijayaraghavan, Ashokan and Aju Varghese, among others.

Conjuring Kannappan

Debutant Selvin Raj Xavier’s film is a horror comedy with Sathish and Regina Cassandra in the lead. Sathish plays Kannappan, a game designer, who stumbles upon a cursed dream catcher, which transports him to a haunted mansion of the 30s, in his dreams. While waking up from his slumber brings him back to the real world, what happens in the dream world does not stay there.
