Nani scored the biggest hit of his career with Dasara, the pan-Indian film that marked the directorial debut of Sukumar’s former protege Srikanth Odela. The film performed well in its Telugu version in Telugu states and international circuits and earned over Rs 100 crore. Upon its OTT premiere on Netflix, Dasara has continued to receive love from audience across the globe.
The actor didn’t take much time to move on from Dasara to shoot for his next film. His next release is Hi Nanna, also helmed by a first-time filmmaker Shoryuv. The film is an emotional father-daughter drama, whose title and first glimpse were launched recently. If the filming progresses as per schedule, Hi Nanna is expected to be a Christmas release (on December 21) across five languages - Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada.
Sita Ramam actress Mrunal Thakur plays the female lead in the Nani starrer bankrolled by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Vijender Reddy Teegala under Vyra Entertainments. Commemorating Mrunal’s birthday, the makers have unveiled a new poster of the actress. “Wishing a very Happy Birthday to the one and only @MissThakurani. Your charm and talent know no bounds. May you continue to rule our hearts forever! Team #HiNanna,” the production house tweeted.
Nani, wishing his Hi Nanna co-star and revealing her character’s name, wrote, “Happy birthday Yashna. Have a wonderful one. From me and Mahi :)” Mrunal, while holding a guitar bag, dons a maroon attire in the backdrop of Nani’s poster and a few flowers. Popular actors Shruti Haasan and Niharika Konidela also essay crucial roles in the drama.
Hesham Abdul Wahab, who’s making his Telugu debut as a composer with Vijay Deverakonda, is the music director. Sanu John Varughese ISC cranks the camera while Praveen Anthony is the editor. Avinash Kolla is the production designer and Satish EVV is the executive producer respectively. Avinash Kolla and Sheetal Sharma are the production designer and costume designer.
