Hijack Season 2 trailer: 200 people will die if the demands of the people who have hijacked a Berlin underground train are not met, says Sam Nelson, whose presence on the train sparks some questions

Did Sam Nelson (Idris Elba) just so happen to fly into Berlin from London and then board an underground train that ended up being hijacked? Or is it all part of a calculated plan that he’s executing? That’s the big question that comes up in Hijack Season 2, the trailer of which dropped earlier on December 11, ahead of the January 14, 2026 return of the show on Apple TV+.
The fact that Sam Nelson was on Kingdom 29, a Dubai to London flight that was hijacked, but landed safely despite some casualties, a situation that he was actively involved in diffusing to some level, raises eyebrows among authorities. It’s just too much of a coincidence that he’s strolled into yet another hijack situation. Counter-terrorism specialists are looking carefully at Sam’s file, as well as the aircraft incident investigation report, because, yet again, he’s the one communication with officials about the status on board.
There are 200 people on board the hijacked trained, says Sam, adding, “if we do not do exactly what they say, we will all die.” Something’s definitely afoot, but is it Sam that they are looking at or someone else, who’s spent a year meticulously planning this ‘mission’ for revenge against him? Well, that’s what we will find out when the show returns in the new year with an 8-episode run that will go on until March 4.

Christine Adams, Max Beesley and Archie Panjabi return, while Christian Näthe, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams and Christiane Paul are among the new additions this season. Hijack Season 1 was one of Apple TV+’s top series in 2024, earning Elba an Emmy nomination.
