The state BJP sees another inner-party tiff, but this time from their coveted corner or Tollywood. Two actors Hiran Chatterjee and Rudranil Ghosh wage a verbal war against each other over their career in the world of entertainment.
Hiran is the BJP MLA of Kharagpur Sadar. He went to a Jagaddhatri Puja at the house of a BJP leader in Ward 17 of Purulia. There, while answering the reporters, Hiran took a dig at Rudranil. He said, “He (Rudranil) has been working in the films made by those people against whom he complains. Those people are thieves. He has to run his family. He is indirectly involved with the thieves.”
It goes without saying that such a comment did not go down well with Rudranil. He retorted, “Hiran is a full-time politician now. He is the MLA of my party. He does politics all day and hence perhaps does not keep track of Tollywood.” He further said, “Why doesn’t he file a case against those whom he tags as thieves? Why doesn’t he tell the state government, or the ED, or The CBI?”
Rudranil added that the production house he works with is under the central government. Hence the centre will know if the organization is a thief.”
The TMC leaders did not let go of the opportunity to take a dig at the BJP and their inner disharmony. Kunal Ghosh, the spokesperson of the ruling party, said that Rudranil worked with Sarada's money. Bengal BJP seems embarrassed at such conflict. Samik Bhattacharya said, “This is undesirable. The party is not interested in such controversies.”
