Adivi Sesh’s upcoming release Hit 2, the second instalment in the thriller franchise Hit, is in the news for the right reasons ahead of its release on December 2. Meenakshi Chaudhary is the female lead in the film written and directed by Sailesh Kolanu. Prashanti Tipirneni is bankrolling the film presented by actor Nani under Wall Poster Cinema (whose Meet Cute released recently).

A new single from Hit 2, Poratame, a theme song, was launched today and it certainly springs a surprise. The director Sailesh has turned a singer for the same and has done a good job of it too. The song depicts the protagonist, cop Krishna Dev a.k.a KD at work and his ‘never-say-die’ attitude to crack a case. Suresh Bobbili’s intense composition and Sailesh’s earthy voice aid the visuals.

“Ye...rakthame antukunna chethula..Enthaki vadhiliponi marakala..Nidhuralo poneponi chedhu guruthula..Kanchele unna annivaipula,” the opening lines address the various challenges that KD faces at work and his dogged determination to take them on. Sailesh’s raw, unblemished rendition works for the mood of the film and he’s helped by Krishna Kanth’s lyrics.

Rao Ramesh, Tanikella Bharani, Posani Krishna Murali, Komalee Prasad, Srinath Maganti, Srikanth Iyengar form the supporting cast of the film. The pre-release event of Hit 2 was held earlier this week with RRR filmmaker SS Rajamouli in attendance. The Hindi version of Hit 2 will also be releasing shortly, Adivi Sesh had confirmed at the event.

S Manikandan is the cinematographer for the film while Garry BH is the editor. With production design by Manisha A Dutt and costume design by Prashanti Tipirneni, Hit 2’s background music is scored by John Stewart Eduri. MM Sree Lekha and Suresh Bobbili have composed the songs. The film needs to collect over Rs 15 crore to attain a hit status at the box office.
