HIT 3 is in no mood to slow down at the box office and is clocking big numbers with each passing day. As per the latest update, the action drama has crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. The Nani and Srinidhi Shetty starrer grossed Rs 100 crore in just four days of its release, which is no mean feat.
Such achievements typically happen only with the country's biggest stars, and with HIT 3's success, Nani has joined the league of Indian superstars. The Jersey star was not even in India and didn’t promote the film after its release, yet HIT 3 made big money in all regions.
The film is about to gross $2 million in the US. Nani is now the only actor after Mahesh Babu to have 11 consecutive $1 million hits in the US, which shows his tremendous overseas appeal.
A massive event is being planned in Hyderabad once Nani returns to India, which will likely give the film an additional boost. HIT 3 was directed by Sailesh Kolanu, who last made Saindhav with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam star Venkatesh. After that film flopped, he had a lot to prove, and the way he showcased Nani in a brutal avatar impressed audiences.
Netflix has bagged the OTT rights for a whopping Rs 54 crore, a record for any Nani film to date. Given Nani’s strong performance on streaming platforms, the streaming giant spent big. Made on a budget of Rs 60 crore, HIT 3 is already in the profit zone. However, the film will be tested as the weekdays begin.
We’ll have to wait and see what the Krishnarjuna Yuddham star has in store promotion-wise in the coming days. Once Nani is back from the US, he will take a break and kick-start his new film, The Paradise, under the direction of Srikanth Odela. Stay tuned for more.
