In the last few years, Telugu actor Nani (of Eega, Jameen, Jersey, etc. , fame) has almost become the man with the golden touch, whether it is with the films he acts in or those that he produces and presents in theatres. This also means that every time that a Nani film is announced, whether as actor or producer, there is a certain level of anticipation that audiences have and expectation that it will meet a certain standard of quality. Does this success graph exert any level of pressure on the actor-producer in terms of the scripts he chooses to be part of in any capacity?
For Snehithuda 's Nani, though, that’s not an issue at all. Pressure, he reckons, will be there only if he begins to think that he needs to keep up this winning streak no matter what. As far as he is concerned, that’s not something he wants to even begin thinking about. In fact, Nani says that when he chooses films, he is not bothered about their box office outcome.
“If it works, it works, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t – that’s all there is to it. It doesn’t matter to me. These films have done well not because I planned them that way; I am just doing what I love doing and picking scripts that excite me. Thankfully, whatever I am loving, audiences are also loving,” he told India Today, during the Bengaluru leg of HIT 3 promotions.
Krishna Gaadi Veera Nani adds that just because he’s had a spate of successful films and audiences trust him with delivering a certain quality of films, he will not change things around or do anything differently. “The trust came from me being me, and not overthinking something. Now, I shouldn’t change. I should only think about picking a script that I really love, giving it my best and promoting it till the last day,” he added.
