HIT 3 star Nani went on a Malayalam binge-watching spree after seeing this Fahadh Faasil starrer

Nani is gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated Telugu film, HIT 3, on May 1, 2025. There is a lot of expectation around the upcoming film, as it is the third instalment in the popular HIT franchise. The film will be releasing in Kerala too, where Nani enjoys a good fan following. During a recent chat, Nani spoke about catching up on Malayalam films during the pandemic and it was Fahadh Faasil-starrer Trance that triggered the spree.

Ahead of the big release of HIT 3, Nani sat down for a promotional interview, where he spoke about enjoying Malayalam films. Though he had watched Malayalam films, dubbed and original, during his younger years, he caught up with several popular and acclaimed movies from Kerala during the pandemic. And it was Pan-India sensation Fahadh Faasil’s Trance that prompted Nani to sit down catch up on Malayalam cinema, which is getting much appreciation from across the country.

“During Covid time, I saw Trance and was blown away, and went on a spree watching all films,” the Hi Nanna star remarked.  

Trance, which features Fahadh as motivational speaker Viju, is now available for streaming on Lionsgate Play and OTTplay Premium. Actress Nazriya Nazim, who is also Fahadh's wife, also appears in a key role in the Malayalam film, directed by Anwar Rasheed.

But not just Trance, Nani went on to list several Malayalam movies he had watched recently, and most of them featured Fahadh Faasil. He named FaFa’s Kumbalangi Nights, Bangalore days which also starred Dulquer Salmaan and his Ante Sundaraniki co-star Nazriya Nazim, and Aavesham. Another Malayalam film on his all-time favourite list is Manjummel Boys, which won appreciation from other parts of the country too. 

He also mentioned enjoying Mammootty’s action-packed Bheeshma Parvam and Kannur Squad. 

Nani has also ardently followed Mohanlal films, from Yoddha and Manichitrathazhu during his younger days to the 2019 Lucifer. But he did admit that he is yet to watch Empuraan, which is slated to make its OTT release on JioHotstar on April 24, 2025. 

On the other hand, directed by Sailesh Kolanu, HIT 3 also features Srinidhi Shetty, Surya Srinivas, Adil Pala Brahmaji, and Maganti Srinath, among others.
