South Korean cinema has carved a niche with its unflinching portrayal of life's darkest corners, particularly in its crime thrillers. These films and dramas resonate with audiences through their raw honesty, analysing societal miseries like corruption, racism, and systemic injustice without inequity. While exploring the depths of human viciousness, they often offer a glimmer of hope, creating a compelling and impactful viewing experience. For example, in 2022, they showcased this side of society through the film, Hit Man. Now, the Korean film is set to make its India debut through Lionsgate Play soon.

What's the plot of the Hit Man film?

The film introduces a professional killer, aka hitman, who sees his work as a technical job, and he lives following a strict rule that if he has been hired to take someone out of the world, anyone connected to that person also falls victim in his hand, no matter what it takes.

The twist comes in his life, when an elderly grandmother comes to him, who lost her granddaughter in a fire accident. According to the grandmother, the accident doesn't seem to sit well, as she thinks something sinister might had happened to the granddaughter. Now, the elderly person seeks answers and revenge. She requests the hitman to investigate the matter, hoping he can find out what really happened and make those responsible pay.
