It has been a little over a month since fans were treated to a cliffhanger ending in the espionage thriller Hit & Run. The viewers have been eagerly waiting for updates of the second season to see how things play out, but the latest reports don't bode well for the fans of the show on Netflix.

According to Deadline, the Iranian show will not be returning for a second season on the streaming platform. The show will be ending its run with just one season, which was well received by critics and audiences.

The nine-episode first season of the show, which according to Netflix landed on their top 10 list after its debut, was an expensive one to make. Filmed in Israel and New York, the show was affected heavily due to the pandemic and took three years to complete production.

The show, which comes from Fauda creators Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz, and Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin, follows Segev, a married man whose life turns upside down after his wife is killed in a hit and run accident. Investigating the incident, he leaves for the United States in search of his wife’s killers. Hit & Run stars Lior Raz, Lior Ashkenaz and Sanaa Lathan.

As the first season of the show ended with an incident that would take Segev on a new path following a kidnapping, fans of the show were looking forward to finding out what direction the show would take.
