The upcoming Hindi film is a remake of the 2020 Telugu film of the same name, which starred Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma in lead roles. The film told the story of a skilled police officer suffering from PTSD who investigates the case of a missing girl. The film marked the feature length directorial debut of Sailesh Kolanu. The director also helmed the remake as well.

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar, and Kuldeep Rathore under the banners of T-Series and Dil Raju Productions. The film went on floors in September last year. Calling the story ‘engaging’ and ‘relevant’ in a statement, Rao had talked about how the film had given him an opportunity to play a character he had not explored before in his career. Malhotra had said that the film had an ‘interesting and intriguing story’.

HIT: The First Case is scheduled to be released on May 20.
