The upcoming film is the Bollywood remake of the 2020 Telugu film of the same name, both directed by Sailesh Kolanu. On why he chose to have Rao essay the role of Vikram, Kolanu had told IANS that he wanted an actor who would be able to communicate the character’s emotions to audiences without saying much. Calling Vikram an intense character with a lot of emotional baggage, Kolanu said that he wanted an actor who could communicate a lot just by the eyes. The director had followed Rao’s work for a while and felt the actor fitted the bill to a tee.

Sanya Malhotra also stars in the film. Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Dil Raju and Kuldeep Rathore have produced the film under the banners of T-Series Films and Dil Raju Production.

HIT - The First Case will release on July 15. The film will be released on the date along with Taapsee Pannu starrer Shabaash Mithu as well as Ram Gopal Varma’s Ladki.
