Written and directed by Dhana, Hitler also stars Riya Suman
Vijay Antony is the silent workhorse of Tamil cinema. He doesn’t make grand announcements, stays largely out of social media, busy directing, acting, making music and letting his work do the talking. Even when the verdicts of his films aren’t all that appealing, he accepts them with grace and moves onto a new project with renewed focus.
2023 has been a busy year for the multi-faceted artiste with four releases - Tamilarasan, Rattham, Kolai and Picchaikaran 2. Now, he’s returning with a slick action thriller Hitler, written and directed by Dhana. Riya Suman, last seen in Men Too this year, plays the female lead while actor-filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon too essays a crucial role. The teaser of the film was launched today.
While the titular character is a political leader and a dictator, the racy teaser of Hitler indicates an officer’s quest to nab the killer. The glimpse introduces three characters and the sequence where the officer and the killer confront one another is a major highlight. The superb cinematography, slick editing and the pulsating background score contribute to a viewer’s excitement.
The makers promise an entertaining love thread in Hitler, a film made on a vast canvas, guaranteeing a feast for action junkies. The film is simultaneously releasing in five languages in early 2024 - including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada. The release date, though, hasn’t been confirmed yet. Vivek and Mervin score the music for the actioner.
