In the first Hocus Pocus 2 teaser trailer, the Sanderson Sisters are back and still have a childlike appetite. The sequel to the well-known Halloween movie, which is set 29 years after the original, reunites Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy in their respective roles as Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson.
The teaser sequence shows Whitney Peak, Belissa Escobedo, and Lilia Buckingham as three high school students discussing their plans for that evening. Visiting a magic shop, Becca (Peak) and Izzy (Escobedo) recite a ceremonial prayer before realising the chanting is effective and lighting the Black Flame Candle. "Birthday ritual: scary movie marathon, same as every year," Becca said to Cassie (Buckingham).
A red split forms in the ground beneath the girls as they attempt to flee. Lock up your children. Winifred says that they are back to Salem, where the film is based.
The villagers then meet the witches while clad as the Sanderson Sisters, a homage to the scenes in Hocus Pocus where everyone assumes the witches to be females only dressing up as the witches.
Winifred, played by Bette Midler, replies, "Always," when she is informed that they are probably looking for the stage. Before dawn on All Hallow's Eve, three high school kids must stop the vengeful, ravenous witches from inflicting a new kind of mayhem on Salem.
The synopsis of Hocus Pocus 2 states that the 17th-century sisters have been awakened and are seeking retribution 29 years after someone lighted the Black Flame Candle. Before All Hallow's Eve dawns, three high school kids must stop the ravaging witches from unleashing a brand-new type of mayhem on Salem.
The other actors in Hocus Pocus 2 are Sam Richardson, Doug Jones, Hannah Waddingham, Froyan Gutierrez, and Tony Hale. On September 30, Disney+ will debut the sequel, Disney+ Hotstar, in India.
