Hoichoi slate announcement brings Debashree Roy, Chiranjeet Chakraborty, and Mimi Chakraborty on board with brand-new shows

Hoichoi announced their slate for this season at a gala event in Kolkata. As it enters its sixth year, Hoichoi is unveiling an array of content, featuring the return of franchises with new seasons and the introduction of fresh characters and narratives. Notably, the platform is set to make its web debut with several superstar appearances, including Mimi Chakraborty, Debasree Roy, Chiranjeet Chakraborty, and more.

There are family dramas and thrillers. However, Hoichoi also presents a ‘female-centric social drama’ genre, featuring shows like Sampurna, Bodhon, Uttoron, Indu, and Noshtoneer. Then there are literary adaptations of novels with segments like Best of Bengal and World Classics. Srijit Mukherji’s Durgo Rawhoshyo will be the first feature of the Best of Bengal and later, there will be an adaptation of Parineeta. After Macbeth, Anirban will bring an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo And Juliet in the World Classic segment. 

The platform has changed, boasting a 40% surge in direct subscriptions, and a staggering 60% ascent in individual watch-time per subscriber, when compared to the preceding year. 

Meanwhile, Hoichoi has now launched its studio to produce exclusive films for a theatrical release; the first of which will star Bengal cinema icon Abir Chatterjee, veteran actor Paran Bandopadhyay, and will be helmed by critically acclaimed director Debaloy Bhattacharya in Shri Swapankumar-er Badami Hyena’r Kobole.
