Hombale Films remains non-committal on Hrithik Roshan in KGF: Chapter 3 rumours; fans are optimistic

Will Hrithik Roshan be a part of the KGF universe? That’s the big question netizens have now. For several days now, it has been reported that Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan will be a part of KGF: Chapter 3. Rumours have been flying high and thick and while Hombale Films, the production house backing the Prashant Neel directorial has not confirmed or denied any such development, co-founder Vijay Kiragandur has been quoted as saying that casting for KGF3 will depend on the availability of stars at the time, given that the film will most likely take off only sometime in 2023, at the earliest.

Fans, though, remain optimistic and believe that Hrithik will be a part of the KGF verse. “Yes and do you know when KGF2 teaser released only @iHrithik from Bollywood wished for @TheNameIsYas and he also replied, saying that "I always admire your work sir" ❤️ It may be KGF3 or multiverse @hombalefilms please make it happen 🔥,” wrote a fan.

There was a lot of excitement among others about the possibility of Rocky Bhai (Yash) either taking on a new villain played by Hrithik or ganging up with him to become the biggest criminal in the world.

Some even speculated that Hrithik may only have a small role in KGF3, which will lead into another independent gangster film for him, given that Vijay Kiragandur has been vocal about the production house’s intentions to make big-budget films and collaborate with talent across industries, including a full-fledged Bollywood movie.

Whatever be the case, fans contend that Hrithik’s name could not have popped up for nothing. There’s no smoke without fire, they reckon, pointing out that Sanjay Dutt’s name was also bandied about much before he was officially confirmed for a role in KGF: Chapter 2. Sanjay played Adheera in the film, which released in theatres on April 14 and continues to go strong at the box office in its sixth week. The film has reportedly raked in over Rs 1,200 crore at the global box office, almost half of which has come from the Hindi belt. Hrithik’s inclusion on the cast is believed to be part of the strategy to build on that market in north India.
