Hombale Films schedules two announcements at the same time; both Salaar update and Kantara first single at 12.58 pm on August 15

In the last few days, Telugu super star Prabhas’ upcoming Salaar has been trending continuously on social media. An update of the Prashant Neel directorial was due, according to netizens, who have been waiting with bated-breath for even the tiniest morsel of information from the set of the film

Today, Hombale Films, the production house that is backing the film, confirmed this rumour that an update is indeed coming on August 15, time stamped 12.58 pm. What’s also interesting is that Hombale Films has another update already lined up on the same day at the same time. The first video song from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara, which is also a Hombale Films production has dibs for August 15, 12.58 pm, considering that it was announced more than a day ago. But which one will the production house prioritize?

Salaar, most probably will get priority entry, say netizens, wondering why the banner would have two announcements at the same time. The last time Hombale Films did something similar was on the eve of KGF: Chapter 2’s release, when they revealed the teasers of two of their upcoming Kannada films, Kantara and Raghavendra Stores, only a few minutes apart.

Meanwhile, there is no letting up on the speculation surrounding the Salaar announcement. Fans believe that the most likely outcome would be its release date announcement. The production house had announced the release date of KGF: Chapter 2 also 7-8 months earlier and could follow suit here too. KGF and Salaar cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda had earlier said that the KGF: Chapter 2 release date, April 14, 2022, was meant to be the date for Salaar, but when the pandemic delayed everything, they shuffled things up. As of now, April 14, 2023 is what is believed to be Salaar’s theatrical release date.

There are others who say that the team could reveal Prithviraj’s look from his cameo in the film about the most violent man. Rishab’s Kantara is also a film that is much anticipated, given that it is his take on the man vs nature conflict. With a Salaar announcement and a song from Kantara, cinephiles are in for a treat, no doubt.
