While Mollywood fans might not be able to watch their favourite Onam release in theatres, producer Vijay Babu and director Rojin Thomas has ensured that there will be enough to keep the audience entertained through their upcoming movie #Home.

Starring Indrans, Sreenath Bhasi, Manju Pillai, Kainakary Thankaraj and Kuruthi fame Naslen, the film is touted to be a feel-good entertainer that will talk about the impact of technology on relationships. Indrans plays a technologically-challenged father named Oliver in the movie, which has Sreenath and Naslen playing his sons.

The movie will mark Amazon Prime Video’s second Onam release after Kuruthi on August 11. #Home will be released on August 19, two days before Onam. The movie will also have Indrans play a lead character in a commercial film for arguably the first time in his career.

#Home will be producer Vijay Babu’s second OTT release. His Jayasurya and Aditi Rao Hydari-starrer Sufiyum Sujatayum was the first Malayalam movie to opt for a direct-to-OTT release during last year’s lockdown. Since then, several Malayalam films including those of leading stars such as Mohanlal’s Drishyam, Fahadh Faasil’s C U Soon and most recently Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Kuruthi have followed suit.

The upcoming movie also has an ensemble cast featuring Aju Varghese, KPAC Lalitha, Srikanth Murali, Johny Antony, Pauly Wilson, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Anoop Menon and Priyanka Nair. The movie discusses a socially-relevant subject especially with most of the youth and adults being hooked to their phones since the start of the pandemic.

Vijay Babu, in an interview with us, had said that the team has tried to present the theme in an entertaining manner, leaving food for thought for the audience. “The movie will be a perfect family watch during the festive times,” he said.
