While the makers of Mohanlal’s Monster have been tight-lipped about the project till now, with its release now more or less confirmed, the team have been letting out details that are stoking expectations. The film’s lead actress Honey Rose recently opened up about her role in the movie, which is helmed by Pulimurugan director Vysakh.

Honey plays a character named Bhaami in the thriller, which is scripted by Udaykrishna and also has Lakshmi Manchu and Sudev Nair as part of the cast. While the actress didn’t reveal the plot of the film, she said that Monster will be a different experience for the audience.

The actress, who had previously worked with Mohanlal in Ittimani: Made in China and Big Brother, said her role in Monster is her best yet. She said that she loved her character and stayed invested in it despite the multiple schedules of the movie, which is expected to hit theatres on September 29 or 30 this year.

Honey also said that the film’s director Vysakh had asked her to assume that Monster was her film because Bhaami is a full-length role and is the anchor of the film’s story.

In an earlier interview with us, Vyaskh said, “Every twist in the film presents a mode of entertainment. So, it wouldn’t be fair to break it down before the movie releases. On a broader perspective, it belongs to the thriller genre. Also, Monster is a movie that’s made for entertainment. We have also tried to address aspects that many are hesitant about.”

The movie, which is produced by Antony Perumbavoor, was earlier rumoured to be an OTT release. However, after the film’s post production was complete and negotiations with OTT platforms broke down, the makers decided to opt for a theatrical release. Monster, if it releases during the pooja holidays, will set up a clash with Mammootty’s Rorschach and Suresh Gopi’s Mei Hoom Moosa – both of which will also release at the end of September.
