Director Vignesh Karthick, who is known for his Adiyae and Thittam Irandu, is back with yet another feature titled Hot Spot. The film is set to release in theatres on March 29 and features a host of known faces like Kalaiyarasan, Janani, Gouri Kishan, Sandy, Ammu Abhirami, Adithya Bhaskar, and others. Release date
Hot Spot is set to hit big screens on March 29. The film will release along with a bunch of other Tamil films, including Veppam Kulir Mazhai, The Boys, Boomer Uncle, and Netru Indha Neram.
Trailer
The trailer of Hot Spot was released by the makers ahead of the film’s release, a few days back. Hot Spot trailer touches upon a range of taboo topics like sex, incest, to name a few. The director, who is known for lacing the film with shock values, had earlier said that the trailer’s click bait nature is merely restricted to it and the film will handle the said topics more maturely and will have answers to it.
Plot
Hot Spot is said to be a hyperlink social drama, which will be divided into four segments connected by one common thread. “Kalaiyarasan’s segment will throw questions on a certain bunch of people and parents, a particular industry, whereas Gouri and Adithya’s segment is targeted towards married couples. Subash and Janani’s segment will work for 2K audience. The film will cater to a wide range of audiences,” Vignesh Karthick had earlier said to OTTplay. Hot Spot is expected to touch upon taboo topics perceived by the society.
Cast and crew
Hot Spot will feature a young cast, including Kalaiyarasan, Janani, Gouri Kishan, Sophie, Sandy, Ammu Abhirami, Adithya Bhaskar, Subash, and others. While Kalaiyarasan and Sophie will play husband and wife, Adithya and Gouri play a couple about to get married. Sandy and Ammu Abhirami appear in one segment, while Subhash and Janani appear in another. The film is written and directed by Vignesh Karthick and is shot by cinematographer Gokul Benoy. The music is scored by Satish Raghunathan and Vaan with Muthayan U editing the film.
Hot Spot to have a sequel?
The director had earlier said to OTTplay that he has a total of eight stories, out of which four made it to Hot Spot. Given the film proves to be successful, a sequel will be made with the remaining four stories, Vignesh Karthick had said.
OTT partner
The OTT partner of Hot Spot has not yet been revealed by the makers. However, the film is expected to make debut on a streaming platform after its theatrical run.
