For her role in Ridley Scott's House of Gucci, Lady Gaga thought it was "extremely crucial" to acquire an Italian accent in everyday situations. Gaga spent months practising her character's Italian accent in the film, which depicts the story of Patrizia Reggiani, who was convicted of hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci.

She says that it was particularly useful to use it in mundane situations such as shopping trips, reports femalefirst.co.uk. The pop star told the Metro newspaper that times like that she found it extra important because she dyed her hair brown and was wearing a COVID-19 mask. Thus, the actor could interact with someone at the grocery store and practice having conversations with the accent without them knowing it was Lady Gaga.

When she was on location for the movie, the singer-actor claimed she wanted the accent to be "naturally ready" in her body. Gaga said that she didn't want to just employ the accent on stage because she wouldn't have been prepared. The actor wanted the accent to seem natural in her body, so it was the last thing on her mind when she was working.

Gaga expressed her desire to "inject humanity" into her alter persona after noticing similarities between herself and Patrizia. She stated that she tried to bring Patrizia's humanity into the character. Gaga also revealed that there's a part of Patrizia that reminds her of herself, in that she wants to be famous, but she also wants to be in charge of the story.

The shocking true story of the family behind the Italian fashion empire inspired the House of Gucci. When Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga), an outsider from humble beginnings, marries into the Gucci family, her unbridled ambition begins to unravel the family legacy and sets in motion a reckless spiral of betrayal, decadence, revenge, and, eventually, murder.
