After fans were left devastated, and even annoyed, by the way the last season of Game of Thrones ended, many are looking to House of the Dragon to fill the void left by the former. Fans in India have been patiently awaiting news about where they can watch the upcoming prequel series to Game of Thrones, and their wait has finally been rewarded. It was announced that House of the Dragon will stream on Disney+Hotstar in India. Announcing the show’s release date, the streaming giant also shared the new trailer of the fantasy series as well.

The new trailer gives viewers a glimpse into one of the central conflicts of the show, as the house of Targaryen tries to decide on who would inherit the Iron Throne. The contenders for the same are Rhaenyra and Daemon, the daughter and brother of the incumbent King Viserys. Rhaenyra is seen having the same fire in her as her ancestors, fiercely refusing to give up the throne. Politics, battles and a whole lot of dragons promise a show as visually stunning as its predecessor.

House of the Dragon will start streaming on Disney+Hotstar from August 22 onwards. The first season will consist of ten episodes.

Check out the trailer below:

The upcoming series stars Paddy Considin, Emma D'Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith and Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Graham McTavish and Ryan Corr in prominent roles. Set almost two centuries before the events of Game of Thrones, the series will revolve around the Targaryen house as they struggle to keep their hold on the iron throne during the last spell of their reign.

The prequel was created by Ryan J. Condal and George R. R. Martin, the latter having penned the fantasy novel series’ the shows have been adapted from.
