It's been just two hours, HBO has dropped the motion poster from the second season of House of the Dragon, and already it took the internet on fire. The two posters feature Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, and the taglines on the posters – "blood for blood" and "fire to fire” are hinting fans to get ready to witness some never--seen-before chaos, jealousy, and rivalry in Season 2.

About the latest posters

After the shocking end of Season 1, now the tensions are at an all-time high between Rhaenyra Targaryen, the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, and Alicent Hightower, the queen and mother of the king's trueborn son. The taglines in the posters are giving signals to a clear warning to anyone who stands in their way. Rhaenyra and Alicent are determined to get revenge for Laenor's death, and they will stop at nothing to achieve it.

The posters also hint at the growing tension between the two women. Rhaenyra and Alicent have been enemies for years, and their rivalry is only going to intensify in Season 2.

About House of the Dragon

For the unversed, House of the Dragon is the prequel of Game of Thrones. The story of House of the Dragon is set two centuries before the events of the main story, a devastating civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons tore through the Targaryen dynasty, pitting brother against sister and dragon against dragon. This internecine conflict resulted in the loss of many of the family's magnificent creatures, leaving their once-unmatched aerial supremacy severely diminished.

House of the Dragon Season 2 release date

The first-look trailer of House of the Dragon Season 2 will be dropped on December 2, 2023, which will arrive at Comic Con Experience Brazil, and the whole season will premiere on HBO in Summer 2024.
