Years after Game of Thrones bid adieu to the silver screen, House Of The Dragon is here to give fans another taste of the fiery saga of House Targaryen. The prequel series aired its first episode recently, and fans old and new seemed to flock to Twitter to express just how much they loved the Targaryens’ return to the screen.
Most viewers were left more than a little pleased after watching the first episode. Fans who were left deeply affected by the way Game of Thrones ended seemed to have found the perfect series to fill the void left by the popular series through House of Dragon. Fans expressed just how easily the show managed to hook them in through a series of hilarious memes. The new show also featured the main theme from Game of Thrones as well, which added to the excitement of fans.
Many agreed that the series started on a strong note indeed, and again took to memes to express that they would definitely tune in for new episodes.
Some of the things viewers seemed to love about the show came in the form of its music and score, as well as its inclusion of violence, much like its predecessor. Matt Smith’s performance as Prince Daemon Targaryen was also widely appreciated.
But one of the moments that really caught fans’ eye was the scene involving Emma D’Arcy’s Princess Rhaenyra, where she is heard saying ‘Dracarys’. Fans were immediately reminded of Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen, and many admitted that the line gave them ‘chills’. The show’s reference to Daenerys at the beginning was also loved by viewers, many even admitted that it made them miss the Game of Thrones character.
The first episode of House Of The Dragon is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. New episodes of the show will air every Monday at 6:30 AM.
