Housefull 5 has been making headlines since the time it was announced. The fifth franchise of the comedy-drama will bring the fun duo Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh together once again. As fans are anticipating every detail of the film, which promises to be a laughter riot, we now have the bad news that Anil Kapoor, who was an important part of the film, has now backed out of the project.

Sajid Nadiadwala's film was supposed to bring back another actor-duo known for their impeccable comic timing: Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar. They entertained us in the film Welcome and fans love their banter on-screen, so when they both came on board, it was the cherry on the cake. However, the recent report reveals that Anil walked out of the project over a fee issue. “There is no bad blood. But Sajid and Anil disagreed on the fee that the latter demanded,” says a source.
Now that the senior actor has decided to part ways from this Tarun Mansukhani directorial, Nana Patekar's role, which was written keeping Anil Kapoor's character aligned, now needs to be changed. Midday quoted a source as saying, "Like in the Welcome franchise, Nana and Anil were to play characters related to each other who worked together as a duo. But with Anil exiting Housefull 5, the makers are writing a new role for Nana."

Apart from Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Nana Patekar, the film also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Chunky Pandey, Pooja Hegde, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, John Abraham, Kriti Sanon, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Kharbanda, Nora Fatehi, and Jacqueline Fernandez. The makers are all set to start shooting the film by August-end. It is said to be released in 2025. However, no official announcement for the same has been made yet.
