Housefull 5: CBFC receives 2 versions of Akshay Kumar's film; Is Sajid Nadiadwala planning something new?

Akshay Kumar-led Housefull 5 is one of the most-awaited films of 2025 and has been garnering significant buzz ever since it was announced. Reportedly, the trailer for the film will be released on May 27. Amid this, Housefull 5 received a UA certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) but a report mentioned that Sajid Nadiadwala submitted 2 versions of the film to the CBFC.

As per a Pinkvilla report, Sajid Nadiadwala has submitted two different versions of Housefull 5 to CBFC. “Housefull 5 is a one-of-its-kind comic thriller, and to keep the mystery of this entertainer intact, the producer has submitted two different versions of the film to the Central Board of Film Certification. Interestingly, both the versions have been watched by the members of the board, and the film has been certified U/A,” revealed the source. 

However, the real motive behind the certification of two distinct versions of the film is being kept under wraps for now, but sources have confirmed that Sajid is planning to do something new that will surprise the audience and the industry.

The source also added that Housefull 5 could be the rarest of the rare film with two censor certificates, and there is a reason for the same, which will be revealed soon.

“It’s 2 hours and 43 minutes of non-stop entertainment. While the confusion of Housefull stays intact, the story-telling pattern is something not seen before in the world. The makers have promised a killer comedy, with lots of confusion caused by 24 actors in the star-cast,” the source added.

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the cast of Housefull 5 features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Chunky Pandey, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir.

Meanwhile, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Housefull 5 is scheduled to hit theaters on June 6, 2025.
