Anupam Kher and Rishab Shetty have spoken about their mutual respect on quite a few occasions, with the latter's blockbuster Kantara being the uniting factor. The two even happened to share the stage at a recent conclave and utilized the opportunity to shower praise on one another, with the veteran actor lauding Rishab for Kantara and him reciprocating by declaring that The Kashmir Files is one of his favourite films.

Quite apparently, the two have grown closer over the past few months and with Anupam Kher making his Kannada debut this year with M.G. Srinivas's Ghost, the borders, too, are being blurred out. As a testament to their friendship, Anupam Kher shared an interesting anecdote that involves him pulling a prank on Rishab Shetty. And to make things more special, Kher had the support of his Ghost co-star Shiva Rajkumar in his ploy!

Speaking about this at a recent press meet, Anupam Kher said, "I happened to play a very interesting prank on Rishab - I sent him a message saying that I am in Bengaluru and asked him when I could meet him. He replied by saying that he is in Kundapura, his hometown, so I said to sir (Shiva Rajkumar) - "can you write in Kannada?" and when I sent him the reply, he got zapped!".

Shiva Rajkumar, the partner-in-crime would then read out the message that he composed on behalf of Anupam Kher: "Yentha mutthala kelsa! Neenu illi irbekagitthu, nannanna welcome madakke!" (What a stupid thing to do! You should have been her to welcome me!).

Anupam Kher then added that Rishab Shetty called him back immediately to find out who conspired with him to write in Kannada. When the veteran actor handed the phone to Shiva Rajkumar, Rishab was apparently "shocked" but also quite amused.

As far as Kher's Bengaluru visit is concerned, the 68-year-old actor is in the city to shoot for Srini's Ghost which also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jayaram, Archana Jois, Prashant Narayanan, and others. The makers are also trying to get Vijay Sethupathi on board but a formal announcement remains pending. Srini confirmed that Ghost will be a two-part film and potentially part of a bigger 'multiverse' that he is conceiving which also includes his Birbal movies.
