How did ‘Dr Arora’ Kumud Mishra manage a beautiful love story and inter-caste marriage with Ayesha Raza? Find out

Kumud Mishra, who is soon going to be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s web series Dr. Arora, once spoke about his wedding to Ayesha Raza. The actor had opened up about his inter-caste marriage in an interview which he gave right after lockdown in 2020. The actor who was promoting Ram Singh Charlie (also a Sony LIV production) back then, got candid, especially about Ayesha and his family.

Known to be a fun personality anyway, Kumud Mishra complained to ScoopWhoop that Ayesha did not change her surname and he in fact has become half-muslim staying with her. It is to be noted that the actor was born in a Hindu Brahmin family.

Kumud Mishra was almost 40 years old when he thought about marrying Ayesha. Thus, the actor refused to run away with her.

The real challenge came when Kumud Mishra had to let his parents accept Ayesha as their bahu. The actor revealed that his mother outright refused, which does not come as a surprise in an inter-caste marriage in India. His father, on the other hand, had some doubts about how the wedding would work.

Kumud Mishra then revealed that he told his parents to wait till he finds the right woman for himself. This was of course the perfect strategy since he was already of age and in an Indian household, in a situation where he was already in love with Ayesha Raza.

“They agreed to get me and Ayesha married after 2-3 hours,” Kumud revealed hilariously. “Our parents accepted us in a colourful way,” he had stated and colourful it was.

Both Kumud Mishra and Ayesha Raza are established actors in Bollywood. He finally got a web series of his own – Dr. Arora, after playing the lead in Ram Singh Charlie.

The couple is blessed with a son named Kabir. Whether Kabir would grow up to become an actor like his parents, will be revealed in time.

Dr. Arora is created by Imtiaz Ali. The project marks Kumud and Imtiaz’s second collaboration since Rockstar. Dr. Arora will release on Sony LIV on July 22.
