Celebrated comedian and actor Kapil Sharma recalls an aroma from the kitchen of a slum that took him back to his olden days during the shooting of his upcoming film Zwigato.
Kapil shared, "For people like us who come from small places and lived in a nice middle-class neighbourhood, we have a very regular culture of talking and sharing food with our neighbour. They are like our family. But when I came to Mumbai, the culture is different here and once you start earning good money, you live in a flat, you don;t get to smell what the neighbour aunty is cooking in the kitchen. Once you earn more money, you own an entire floor so we almost start living in a bubble. During our shooting, as you know we shot it in a real location, in a slum, I went there for the first time and someone was cooking something...the aroma of the kitchen took me back to my home town within no time. There is a different kind of affection, love, and care that we used to get when we used to live in a community. It is still there in small towns but maybe not so much in urban pockets of Mumbai."
The actor is born and brought up in Amritsar and went through a huge struggle before winning the contest The Great Indian Laughter Challenge : Season 3, then he started his own show Comedy Nights with Kapil Sharma and he is constantly hosting stand-up comedy shows since then. Currently, he is hosting the show The Honey Bunny Show With Kapil Sharma.
