The One We’ve Been Waiting For Is Finally Here! The most-awaited Friends: The Reunion episode dropped on May 27 on HBOMax and Zee5 (in India) with an amazing response from around the globe. The most anticipated reunion featured the original cast including Jennifer Anniston, Matt LeBlanc, Cortney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Mathew Perry of the hit 90’s sitcom with special appearances from a few global celebrities as well.
All six of them have given many memorable scenes and hilarious quotes throughout the series. Today, we are remembering some of the most hilarious dialogues of Matt LeBlanc’s Joey from the show:
It Hurts My Joey's Apple (The One Where They All Turn Thirty)
This episode was one of the most hilarious ones, where Monica reaches home completely sloshed for her surprise birthday party. Before her arrival, Chandler sees that Joey’s taking off his bow tie and asks him to put that back on. Joey being Joey replies saying ‘It Hurts My Joey's Apple,’ post which Chandler explains to him that it’s not named after each individual man.
It’s All A Moo Point (The One Where Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs)
This was Joey's advice to Rachel when she was crushing over her assistant Tag and wanted to make a move just after his breakup, on one of the Thanksgiving dinners.
While asking when can a person should make a move on somebody who just had a breakup, Joey replies- half an hour, adding, “But the question is, does he like you? If he doesn’t like you then it’s all “A Moo Point.’” When they look at him puzzled, he explains further – “It’s like a cow’s opinion” and furthermore said, “It’s Moo”.
Joey Doesn’t Share Food! (The One With The Birth Mother)
The most famous dialogue that gave us all a way to say no if we want to eat our favourite food all by ourselves. Joey has used this quite a lot of times in the show, but the most memorable one was when he refused to call his date, who was also Phoebe's friend, just because she took some fries from his plate. After that Rachel narrates an incident to Phoebe where Joey didn’t let Emma take a few grapes from his plate. In the end, Joey screams his heart out and says, “Joey Doesn’t Share Food!”
I Am Chandler, Could I Be Wearing Anymore Clothes (The One Where No One’s Ready)
While Ross was pleading with everyone to get ready for a black-tie benefit at the museum, Chandler and Joey were fighting over a couch cushion. Later, Chandler goes and gets dressed but hides Joey's underwear. To take revenge on him, Joey wears everything that Chandler owned and imitates Chandler saying, “I Am Chandler, Could I Be Wearing Anymore Clothes”
Blay De La Blay De Blu Blah Blay (The One Where Joey Speaks French)
The disastrous line was one where Joey butchered the French language while preparing to audition for a part in a new show. Being fluent in the language, Phoebe offered to help him learn but finally couldn’t. So, Joey decided to learn it from a French tutorial audio cassette. The first line of the script was, My name is Claude, which translates to French as Je m'appelle Claude, which was pronounced by Joey as Blay De La Blay De Blu Blah Blay.
Trivia: Matt LeBlanc can actually speak fluent French.
S’up? With The Whack PlayStation S’up? (The One With Monica’s Thunder)
The hilarious line was chanted by Joey in order to look and behave like a 19-year-old guy for yet another audition, which clearly went unaccomplished. While they were all planning to go to the Plaza for drinks to celebrate Monica and Chandler’s engagement, Joey mentioned that he can’t be up till late as he has to prepare for the role of a 19-year-old boy for an ad commercial that took everyone by surprise.
Let’s play Bamboozled! (The One With The Baby Shower)
The episode when the boys were being boys. While Phoebe and Monica were throwing Rachel a baby shower, Ross and Chandler decided to go for a Basketball match, which they later got postponed to help Joey rehearse for a new quiz show titled ‘Bamboozled.’ The rules of the show were complicated enough to make the producers omit it but not for Joey.
How YOU Doing? (The One Where Phoebe Runs)
This is indubitably one of the most used phrases by Joey. It was less like a question and more like an exclamation mark for him, which he purposely used to allure women. However, there comes an epic moment where 'How you doing' fails miserably when Joey tries it on his hot dancer roommate Janine.
