Daali Dhananjaya has a good professional rapport with KRG Studios, one of the leading distribution houses in Karnataka, which has also ventured in film production. The banner, led by Karthik Gowda, who is also executive producer with Hombale Films, and stylist-filmmaker Yogi G Raj, is currently on its second production, Hoysala, which has Dhananjaya in the lead and is his milestone 25th movie as hero.

Although the film was announced some time ago, it was officially launched only at the end of April. A thriller set in Belagavi, Hoysala sees Dhananjaya play a rough-and-tough cop. He is paired with his girlfriend Amrutha Iyengar in the film. A little while ago, the team revealed the actor’s first look as his character – Guru Dev. “Guru Dev #Hoysala is here to drive away your Monday Blues,” was the post accompanying the image.

Sporting a cool pair of shades and a clean-shaven look, Dhananjaya’s holding a glass of cutting chai in the first look of the thriller. According to reports, the story of Dhananjaya is based on several real-life incidents involving the police force and seeks to address flaws in the system. Dhananjaya’s look, incidentally, is a lot like how he was seen in Duniya Vijay’s directorial debut, Salaga.

Back when KRG Studios had ventured into filmmaking, Dhananjaya was the lead of the banner’s first production, Rathnan Prapancha, directed by Rohit Padaki. The production house then reunited with the actor for its second venture as well, while its recently announced third film is with Rohit as director yet again. The star cast of this film, Uttarakaanda, is yet to be revealed, but since it is a story of gangsters set in North Karnataka, Dhananjaya’s name is among the frontrunners to lead the film.

Meanwhile, the actor, who ventured into film production with his last solo release, Badava Rascal, recently completed work on his next as producer, Head Bush, which is the biopic of MP Jayaraj, Bengaluru’s first gangster.
