Hridpindo is a love story that will raise significant questions against the stereotypical notions of love and belonging we have seen and accepted for generations.
Hridpindo’s narrative is about Arja, a married woman working as a lecturer in a science college. Her husband Somak loves her. One day, Arja travels back to her teens. She used to be in love with a boy named Rick then. This leads to an emotional tussle between the three people. Does she listen to her heart or does she go with what her brain asks her to do?
Arpita Chatterjee plays Arja and Shaheb Chatterjee is her onscreen husband Somak. Prantik Banerjee essays Arja’s teen love interest, Rick.
Anubhav Kanjilal will be seen in a brief yet pivotal role while Ananya Sengupta also plays a significant character named Rimpi.
Shaheb has previously worked with Arpita Chatterjee in Laboratory. The film was based on Rabindranath Tagore’s creation and marked Raveena Tandon’s debut in Bengali cinema.
Hridpindo was mostly shot in and around Kolkata and in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh. Ranajoy Bhattacharya composed the music.
Director Shieladitya’s debut directorial feature Sweater was about an underconfident girl Tuku whose mother-in-law places an unusual condition that she has to be an expert in knitting after marriage. It was praised by the audience and received appreciation from the critics as well. Ishaa Saha played a pivotal role in Sweater.
