Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 to release before Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s Tiger vs Pathaan, details inside

YRF Spy Universe has grown to be Bollywood's biggest franchise. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's 2012 film Ek Tha Tiger serves as its starting point. Due to its success, Aditya Chopra produced Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), a sequel starring the same cast. War (2019), starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor, came next. 

The recently released film Pathaan is also a part of this universe. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham appeared in it, and it was directed by Siddharth Anand, who also made the film War. It's interesting to note that this was the first movie in the universe where a true crossover took place. Salman Khan's Tiger made a spectacular 15-minute cameo in Pathaan's second half, ramping up the craziness.

Currently, YRF is preparing to release Tiger 3, the third installment of the Spy Universe. It will be released in theatres on Diwali 2023 and stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi. Shah Rukh Khan will reprise his role as Pathaan in this movie, albeit in a special appearance. Fans want a movie with both actors playing the key roles after seeing SRK and Salman together. 

Soon after, it was revealed that Tiger vs. Pathaan, a movie, was in the works. Recent developments indicate that Siddharth Anand will helm even this major motion picture.

In the meantime, it just came to light that War 2 is also on the horizon. The director of this movie, Ayan Mukerji, revealed his involvement with it. The following day, it was announced that Jr. NTR, a South star who gained international attention with RRR (2022), would play the role of Hrithik Roshan's co-lead in the movie.

Although War 2 was announced before Tiger vs. Pathaan, it will be released first.

When asked about the release plans, the source told Bollywood Hungama, “War 2 is expected to go on floors this year once Siddharth Anand is done with Fighter, his Republic Day 2024 release. Hence, if all goes well, War 2 is expected to be out by 2024 end. Tiger vs Pathaan, meanwhile, will release only in 2025 and not before that.”
