Superstar Hrithik Roshan and dedication always go hand in hand. Testimonies to his seamless dedication stands in the form of his roles in the recently released Fighter and other films like Bang Bang, Kites and many others. Today, he sent almost everyone into a shock by posting a photograph of him in crutches. Along with the said photograph, he also posted a long note.

How many of you out there ever needed to be on crutches or a wheelchair?

The Krrish actor started off asking everyone “How many of you out there ever needed to be on crutches or a wheelchair n how did that make you feel? I remember my grandfather refusing to sit on a wheelchair at the airport because it wouldn’t align with his own mental image of himself as “strong”. I remember saying “But Deda, its just an injury and nothing to do with how old you are! It will help heal the injury n not damage it further!”

Hrithik's grandpa had kept the strong image on display for strangers

Hrithik added that it had made him so sad to see how strong he needed to be just to hide the fear and embarrassment on the inside and that he couldn’t make sense of it and made him feel helpless. He, then, even argued that the age factor was not applicable because he needed the wheelchair for an injury and not his old age, but he (his grandfather) had refused and had kept the strong image on display for strangers, who literally didn’t care.

The actor stated that this further worsened his pain and delayed the healing. He then attributed that to the mentality of a soldier and also ‘revealed’ that his father (Rakesh Roshan) also came from the same conditioning, which proved that men are strong! Saying this, he added that soldiers never need crutches and that, even when they medically do, they must refuse, just for the sake of keeping the illusion of strength intact.

Citing an example of Rambo, he said that strength is not always being Rambo against all odds with a machine gun, but, when there is no one to fight on the outside. Towards the end, he ‘revealed’ that he had pulled a muscle yesterday and that he was wanting to reach out about the aforementioned notion of strength. He then, attributed a bigger conversation wherein the crutches were just a metaphor. The ‘Fighter’ actor then wrapped up the whole post with an adage, ‘If you get it, you get it’!

No sooner he uploaded the post, there were many fans and followers who drooped their concerning messages in the comments section. While one user wrote, ‘Youre my hero’, there was another who wrote, ‘Get well soon sir’. Another user commented, Sir how are you?? are you fine ??’. Besides that, there were many other messages which mirrored the users’ concern towards his well-being and health.
