Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan is the latest star to come in support of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha despite demands to boycott the movie by certain sections of people. The movie, which was among the most-anticipated films this year, hit theatres earlier this week but faced trouble at the box office, attracting only limited footfall in theatres.

Numerous celebrities took to their social media page to promote the movie including Hrithik Roshan. The actor, who watched the film, tweeted, “Just watched LAAL SINGH CHADDA. I felt the HEART of this movie. Pluses and minuses aside, this movie is just magnificent. Don’t miss this gem guys ! Go ! Go now . Watch it. It’s beautiful. Just beautiful.”

Meanwhile, director Harshal Mehta also took to the micro-blogging site to post the review of the movie, urging viewers to “go watch Laal Singh Chaddha and stop spreading Malaria”.

Take a look at his tweet below:

Despite having a star-studded cast and a sizable budget, Laal Singh Chaddha is doing significantly below predictions at the box office. After a weak start, the movie's second day had a 40% reduction in attendance, while the third day saw a little increase.

Although the movie's box office performance has been hampered by lukewarm reviews, boycotting messages left before the film's debut made matters worse. The demands for a boycott, according to trade expert Taran Adarsh, have had a negative impact on the movie's performance.

Taran claimed in a tweet, “STOP being in denial about #Boycott calls *not* affecting film biz... The fact is, these #Boycott calls *HAVE* made a dent and impacted the #BO numbers of #LaalSinghChaddha specifically... Face it!”

Laal Singh Chaddha has earned almost Rs 27 crore overall. Aamir’s film is still performing higher than Raksha Bandhan, the movie starring Akshay Kumar. Both movies are adding to Bollywood's unfortunate run of failures in the post-pandemic phase, when only a few selected movies have succeeded in achieving popularity. Laal Singh Chaddha is the official Hindi version of Forrest Gump, Tom Hanks' Academy Award-winning 1994 film. Advait Chandan is the film's director, while Kiran Rao, Viacom18 Studios, and Aamir Khan Productions are its producers.
