The first trailer of Hugh Jackman’s highly anticipated movie, Reminiscence is finally out. The trailer introduces ‘private investigator of the mind’, Hugh Jackman in a futuristic setting of a world affected by global warming. Warner Bros, released the trailer for this original sci-fi thriller on YouTube and all other social media platforms yesterday. The film has been written and directed by HBO’s Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy. Reminiscence will be Lisa’s feature debut as well.
Reminiscence was originally scheduled for release on April 16 this year. However, it was delayed to September 3 after Warner Bros rearranged their entire release schedule due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now the movie has been rescheduled once again to an earlier date.
Reminiscence will now release on August 20 to avoid releasing directly opposite Marvel Studios' upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The film will simultaneously release in theatres and HBO Max on the same date, but the movie will only stream on HBO Max for 31 days from its release.
According to the official synopsis, “Nick Bannister, a private investigator of the mind, navigates the darkly alluring world of the past by helping his clients access lost memories. Living on the fringes of the sunken Miami coast, his life is forever changed when he takes on a new client, Mae. A simple matter of lost and found becomes a dangerous obsession. As Bannister fights to find the truth about Mae's disappearance, he uncovers a violent conspiracy, and must ultimately answer the question: how far would you go to hold on to the ones you love?”
In the trailer we can see Hugh Jackman’s character, Nick Bannister, a private investigator who uses advanced technology to allow his clients to access lost memories. And then the trailer shows actress Rebecca Ferguson as Mae, a mysterious client who abruptly vanishes. Nick Bannister, having peered inside her mind, sets out to solve the mystery of Mae’s disappearance, leading him into a vast and violent conspiracy.
