Mankatha actor Mahat Raghavendra is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi's Double XL. Now, the latest we hear is that the film also has a connection with Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu star Silambarasan TR. The makers recently released the first single from the film, Taali Taali, and the song which is tuned in typical kuthu style, is rendered by none other than Silambarasan TR. Mahat, who plays one the leading men along with Zaheer Iqbal, is seen dancing like there's no tomorrow to the peppy beats. The song has already become a rage among fans of Silambarasan. It is to be noted that Silambarasan is a popular singer as well in the Tamil film industry.
Huma Qureshi, who had made her Tamil debut with Rajinikanth's Kaala, thanked Silambarasan for singing the number, "Thank you to superstar @SilambarasanTR_ for lending his voice and being a part of #DoubleXL family . It’s time to set the dance floor on fire as the #TaaliTaali song is here! (sic)"
An excited Silambarasan had revealed that the song was his maiden venture in Hindi and wrote on his social media handle, "Here’s my first song in Hindi,My debut as a singer in Bollywood & this one is for my friend @MahatOfficial Onwards & upwards ! Proud of you Good luck to the whole team of doubleXL Guys get ready to groove with the #TaaliTaali song! (sic)."To which Mahat replied, "You’ve always been there for me as a inspiration ,mentor & a good friend Thanks once again for standing by me and pushing me forward to achieve my goals. @SilambarasanTR_ love you macha (sic)"
The film, directed by Satram Ramani, has story and screenplay by Mudassar Aziz. Huma Qureshi recently revealed that the film will also mark the acting debut of cricketer Shikhar Dhawan.
Double XL is said to revolve around two plus-sized women, played by Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi and takes on society's stereotypes on beauty. Both the actresses have spoken about being bodyshamed and how they overcame the same. The film delves into body positivity and being comfortable in one's own body. The film, which is bankrolled by T-Series, Wakaoo Films, and Elemen3 Entertainment, will hit the theatres on November 4.
