Humble Politiciann Nograj trailer: Danish Sait’s Nograj is neck deep in ‘resort politics’

Earlier this week, Voot Select had released a teaser to the upcoming Humble Politiciann Nograj web series, which comes four years after the film of the same title, to announce the release date on the platform. Today, they’ve followed that up with a trailer, which gives audiences a slightly more detailed preview of the scam that’s unfolding this time around.

Saad and Danish pick up on ‘resort politics’, which has taken place in several parts of the country, including Karnataka, wherein political parties try to forge possible alliances with smaller players to get the required numbers for a majority, and ‘host’ them at resorts. Ambitious as he is, Nograj smells a big pay day and the possibility to become chief minister, when the government, led by Prakash Belawadi as CM, loses majority. The series, it appears, will follow the escapades of Nograj and his trusted aide Manjunath (Vijay Chendoor), as they try to fix the hung government situation.

Speaking about the show at the trailer launch, Saad said, “The way Danish embodies Nograj and seeing him perform gave me a canvas to work with and that really helped envision everything else. As a director, comedy is not an easy genre to tackle, but Danish and I have worked together for over 8 years now, and we laugh at the same things, almost always. When we work on a scene - instantly, we both know whether it works or not. For me - Danish is synonymous with Humour, and nobody can ace Nograj better than him!”

Danish adds, “The character, Nograj has a hysterically funny personality with optimistic ambitions. To get into his shoes, demanded a lot of preparation. I had to think and feel like a scamster, to keep the infectious energy consistent. There are some characters that influence your personality and Nograj did that for me in a good way. Though, at times, I do wonder, what will happen to the nation if we actually have people like him.”

Humble Politiciann Nograj also stars Geetanjali Kulkarni, Tiku Talsania, Disha Madan, Varun Thakur, and Shalini Narayan.
