Actress Bhavana, whose first Malayalam film in five years Ntikkakkokkoru Premondarnn is set to hit theatres this month, has also signed another movie with director Shaji Kailas. Titled Hunt, the film is expected to go on floors on December 26 in Palakkad.

The upcoming movie will mark the first collaboration between Bhavana and the veteran filmmaker in over 16 years. The duo had previously teamed up for Suresh Gopi’s Chintamani Kolacase in 2006 in which Bhavana played the titular role.

Hunt, which is scripted by debutant Nikhil Anand, also has Aditi Ravi, G Chandunath, Renji Panicker and Nandu in supporting roles. The movie will mark Shaji’s third directorial this year after Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrers Kaduva and Kaapa, which is set to hit theatres during Christmas this year. The latter, which is scripted by GR Indugopan, also has Asif Ali, Anna Ben and Aparna Balamurali in lead roles.

Shaji Kailas is also gearing up for the release of his Mohanlal-starrer Alone, which is a pandemic thriller that only has one character. While Mohanlal essays the central character, the movie also features voices of Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier and Siddique.

The filmmaker had earlier announced that there were plans of doing a female-centric multistarrer titled Pink, which is scripted by GR Indugopan. This project seems to have been pushed to next year. The makers of Pink, which is touted to be a thriller, were planning to rope in Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vidya Balan or Nayanthara in the lead role.

Meanwhile, Bhavana’s Ntikkakkokkoru Premondarnn, a romantic family drama, is set to hit theatres on December 16. The movie, which is directed by Adhil Maimoonath Asharaf, has Sharafudheen essaying the male protagonist. It’s said to revolve around two siblings. In a recent audio launch event, Bhavana said it’s a simple, feel-good story that she hopes the audience would connect with.
