I am Kathalan’s first look: Poster featuring Naslen K Gafoor has a quirky tagline

The makers of I am Kathalan have released the Gireesh AD-directed film’s first-look poster, featuring Naslen K Gafoor. In the poster, Naslen is seen entering a house in casual attire, holding a packet in his hand. The tagline reads, “On the internet, nobody knows you are a dog.” It’s an adage and meme about internet anonymity, which gained popularity as a caption to a cartoon published in The New Yorker. Given this reference, the Naslen-starrer is likely to deal with new-age online romances and love affairs.

‘I am Kathalan is a thrilling comedy entertainer’

I am Kathalan is penned by actor Sajin Cherukayil, who is known for his performance in movies like Padmini and Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam. Sajin has also acted in Gireesh’s Super Sharanya and Thanneer Mathan Dinangal. Sajin told Cinema Express that the film is a comedy entertainer that takes a thrilling turn. He also said that the narrative progresses through humorous events and has some surprises in store.

Anishma Anilkumar, who is recognised for her role in Antony Varghese’s Poovan, is the female lead in the movie, while it also features Dileesh Pothan, TG Ravi, Vineeth Vishwam, Lijomol, Kavitha and Vineeth Vasudevan in pivotal roles.

The technical team includes music director Sidhartha Pradeep, editor Akash Joseph Varghese and cinematographer Sharan Velayudhan. I am Kathalan marks Naslen’s third collaboration with Gireesh, as they previously worked together in Thanneer Mathan Dinangal and Super Sharanya.

Meanwhile, Naslen will be teaming up with Gireesh once again for a film bankrolled by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaram. The romantic comedy will feature Mamitha Baiju as the female lead. The film’s shooting wrapped up earlier this year, while the post-production works are underway.
