The audio launch of Ariyavan, which stars newcomers Ishaaon and Pranali, was held recently in Chennai. The event was attended by the entire cast and crew, including the film's music composer James Vasanthan. However, the film's 'director' Mithran R Jawahar remained conscpiscous by his absence. Now the Thiruchitrambalam director has come out and stated that the team of Ariyavan has been misusing his name to gain mileage for the film. He added that the film was made by his assistant and that he had absolutely no other connection with the film.
The plot of Ariyavan revolves around how young women are cheated and blackmailed by vested interests and they need to protect themselves. During the audio launch, the film's star cast had thanked Mithran Jawahar profusely for giving them an opportunity to work in the film. Ishaaon, who plays the lead in the film, had stated during the launch, "I am hugely indebted to Mithran Jawahar sir. He has given many hit films but he chose me for this film, which also has an underlying message. When you look at Mithran sir's films, they are complete family entertainers. There's comedy, romance, sentiment, action and Ariyavan, too, falls under the same genre. But other than being a family entertainer, the film has a social message."
Mithran has predominantly worked only with Dhanush, with their projects including Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Kutty, Uthamaputhiran and the recent blockbuster outing Thiruchitrambalam. So, when Mithran R Jawahar's name was associated with a small-budgeted project with an unknown cast, it took many by surprise. Ariyavan has story by Maariselvan Su, and music by Jamesh Vasanthan, Ved Shankar and Giri Nandh. The film is bankrolled by MGP Mass Media Private Limited.
In the meantime, Mithran Jawahar has moved on to his next with actor Madhavan. The team recently roped in writer B Jeyamohan to pen the screenplay and dialogues.
