I have been waiting to compose music for Vijay sir: Thaman on Thalapthy 66

The shoot for Vijay's upcoming film, which is tentatively being referred to as Thalapathy 66, is going in full swing in Hyderabad. Pictures of Vijay at the Hyderabad airport had already gone viral on social media In the meantime, a video of the film's music composer Thaman has surfaced on the internet in which he is quoted saying that his heart has always been waiting to compose music for a Vijay film. "This is the first time that Thaman is composing for the actor."That's when Vijay sir told me that I was composing for his next film, no matter who the director was. This was after he had signed Beast."

The composer added that the day he heard the script of Thalapathy66, he was completely blown away by it. He said that the makers have made a fantastic film and after Thalapathy66, everyone will be talking about Vamsi Paidpally, the film's director. Thaman also said that he had recently visited the sets of the film and that he could feel the excitement in the air. The album for Thalapathy 66 comprises six songs. 

The makers of Thalapathy66 have been announcing the names of the supporting star cast who will be part of the film. A previous list released included Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj and Prabhu. Now the film has got some new additions to its star cast, including Sangeetha, Tollywood actor Srikanth and Bigg Boss Tamil fame Samyuktha. Shaam and Yogi Babu are also part of the star cast. Thalapathy 66 has Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. This is Rashmika's second film in Tamil after Sulthan.

The film is expected to hit screens next year for Pongal, revealed the makers. Interestingly, Vijay has not had a Pongal release since Bairavaa in 2017. Hence, fans of the actor are eagerly looking forward to the release.
